The US appealed to be "peaceful" from the sides in Kirkuk


The United States has asked the parties to be "peaceful" after occupying major installations in the northern regions of Kirkuk, under the control of the Kurdish fighters in Iraq.

In the statement issued by the US Department of State, Spokesman Heather Nourrett said, 'America has a grave concern over the reports of violence surrounding Kirkuk.'
"We support a peaceful, joint system in all controversial areas under Iraqi constitution between the regional and central governments," he added.
Mr Nouriet warned, "There is a lot of work to do now in Iraq to defeat the extremist organization called Iraq, and America is working to encourage dialogue with all the parties of the state."
Earlier, a statement issued by the Iraqi army said that its units have been restored to government offices on the Ki-Vicinity base, Baba Goggers Oil & Gas Field and Oil State Company offices.
